Tips for little artists
Tip: Press lightly with the pencil first. Trace the lines you like with the marker, then erase the rest.
Tip: Make the beak big and curved. The hook at the tip makes it look like an eagle.
Tip: Leave the head and tail white. The white next to the brown makes it a bald eagle.
Make it yours
Flying eagle
Draw both wings spread wide out to the sides instead of folded.
Eagle in its nest
Draw a big round nest of sticks under the eagle instead of the branch.
Eagle in the sky
Add a blue sky, a few clouds and a sun behind the eagle.
Common mistakes and easy fixes
It looks like a parrot
Make the beak hooked and yellow, and keep the head white with a zigzag neck line.
The wing hides the whole body
Draw the wing on the left side only, so the round front of the body still shows.
The feet float above the branch
Draw the branch first, then wrap the toes and claws over its top edge.
