Tips for little artists
Tip: Press lightly with the pencil first. Trace the lines you like with the marker, then erase the rest.
Tip: Round the top of the head when you add the horn and ear. The horn sits just in front of the ear.
Tip: Draw the mane and tail as big wavy curls. Curls at the ends make them look soft.
Make it yours
Rainbow unicorn
Color each curl of the mane and tail a different rainbow color.
Flying unicorn
Add a feathered wing on the side of the body and a few clouds under the hooves.
Unicorn with stars
Draw small yellow stars and hearts in the sky around the unicorn.
Common mistakes and easy fixes
The horn looks like an ear
Make the horn longer and pointier than the ear, and add three or four stripe lines across it.
The legs are too short
Make each leg about as long as the body is tall, so the unicorn stands up straight.
The mane looks flat
Draw the mane as a few big S-shaped waves that end in curls, not straight lines.
