Tips for little artists

  • Tip: Press lightly with the pencil first. Trace the lines you like with the marker, then erase the rest.

  • Tip: Draw the cheek fur as small zigzags. Zigzags look like fluffy fur.

  • Tip: Leave the muzzle and chest white. The white makes the gray face look friendly.

Make it yours

  • Howling wolf

Tilt the head up, draw the mouth as a small open circle and add a moon behind it.

  • Arctic wolf

Leave the wolf white, color only the nose and eyes, and draw snow around it.

  • Wolf pup

Make the head and paws bigger and the body smaller for a baby wolf.

Common mistakes and easy fixes

  • The ears are too short

Make each ear a tall, pointed triangle. Start it at the top corner of the head and stretch the tip up high.

  • It looks like a dog

Add the spiky cheek fur and the big bushy tail. Those make it look like a wolf.

  • The tail floats

Start the tail behind the back leg, low on the body, then curve it up.
