Tips for little artists
Tip: Press lightly with the pencil first. Trace the lines you like with the marker, then erase the rest.
Tip: Let the head overlap the top of the body. That makes a cute, chubby duck.
Tip: Draw each webbed foot like a small fan with three points.
Make it yours
Duck in a pond
Skip the legs and draw wavy water lines across the bottom of the body.
Mallard duck
Color the head green, add a thin white ring on the neck and make the chest brown, like a male mallard.
Duck family
Draw two or three smaller ducklings in a line behind the big duck.
Common mistakes and easy fixes
The beak is too pointed
Make the beak flat and rounded at the tip, not pointed.
The wing is too small
Draw the wing almost as wide as the head, in the middle of the body.
The feet are not webbed
Draw each foot as one flat fan with three points at the front, not three separate lines.
