Tips for little artists
Tip: Press lightly with the pencil first. Trace the lines you like with the marker, then erase the rest.
Tip: Draw one wing, then copy it on the other side. Check that both tips are at the same height.
Tip: Make the small feathers like the bumps of a cloud, all about the same size.
Make it yours
Bird wings
Color the wings brown or gray and leave out the heart.
Rainbow wings
Color each long feather a different color of the rainbow.
Wings with a star
Swap the heart in the middle for a small yellow star.
Common mistakes and easy fixes
The wings are different sizes
Draw the right top edge as a mirror copy of the left one, tip at the same height.
The feathers look like spikes
Round the end of every feather, both the small ones and the long ones.
The heart is lost
Start each top edge from the side of the heart so the heart stays in the middle.
